Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown celebrates Newark’s history of innovation and commerce, telling the story of modern innovation over time, including a young Thomas Edison’s work to invent the stock ticker in the area, according to the company. “This boutique hotel sits on one of the busiest corners in New Jersey, making it easy to walk around the neighborhood and discover the local scene.” “Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown is designed to reflect the local culture, character and history of its surrounding location,” Jason Moskal, VP of lifestyle brands at IHG, told Hotel Business. Baraka Scott O’Neil, CEO of the New Jersey Devils and Mark Grier, vice chairman of Prudential Financial joined IHG along with the hotel’s ownership and management companies at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 26. The boutique hotel, owned by The Hanini Group, LLC and managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Inc., is housed in the historic National State Bank Building, which had been vacant. The 108-room Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown is located at 810 Broad St., near the Prudential Center-home of the New Jersey Devils. ![]() NEWARK, NJ-InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has officially opened Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown-the brand’s third hotel in the New York Metro area.
